From hatchery tank to export box, one unbroken chain

Divron's buyers are looking for unique seafood of exceptional quality, produced and sourced sustainably and naturally. Our process exists so they are supplied consistently and reliably with product they can trust.

Divron builds its production and sourcing system as a quality chain, integrating the process from the hatchery that produces the young prawns, through grow-out in Sri Lanka's inland reservoirs, to distribution of the live, fresh or cryogenic product to customers in markets all over the world.

Every stage below is a real step with its own people, its own standards and its own record. Nothing in the sequence is decoration.

Breeding

Our hatchery selects broodstock from Sri Lanka's own natural population and raises the post-larvae that stock the reservoirs.

Grow-out

Open inland reservoirs, stocked at low density. The prawns grow on natural food in ancient irrigation tanks, tended by partner fisher communities.

Transport

Live-handling and cool-chain logistics from the reservoir shore to the processing point. The most fragile hours in the whole chain.

Packaging

Export-grade packing and quality control, then an unbroken cold chain out to international markets.

Grading

Graded A, B or C on appearance, and weighed separately. Grade and weight together decide the product line: live, fresh-chilled or cryogenic.
